My story continues

Christmas was a good time. Christmas Eve we did something I’d never done before – we went to the beach. I had great fun running around, and there were lots of other people and dogs. But I wasn’t sure about the sea itself. Not only was it cold and wet, but the water moved and kept coming towards me in waves. Mum and Dad tried to tempt me in, but I was having none of it. They must think I’m daft! Anyway, Mum took some video of it, which you can see here - but only if it will work, which it doesn't seem to want to at the moment :(

I enjoyed Christmas day – I got presents! And lots of wrapping paper to play with!!! And cookies, and turkey!!!! This is me on Christmas day, enjoying my new Mad Kitty toy.

The next day, Boxing Day, we went down the beach again, and there were more people than ever. It was great – as you can see.

So good I decided I didn’t want to go anywhere else to walk. I used to dig my heels in, and Mum used to try and drag me along. After a few days I gave up – after all, any walk is better than no walk. I’ve got a few more photos of me from early January. As you can see, I was allowed on the stairs by then.

Mum gave me a carrot, but I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do with it, so I chewed it up…

Mum finds it funny that I sometimes sleep like that, although I can’t see why. She calls me her little tartlet.

The new year was all change. First of all Dad went away for a couple of days. I couldn’t work out where he’d gone, so was really pleased when he came back. Then a strange man came to the house and started replacing all the doors. Mum tried to keep me out of his way, but I did my best to help where I could. And he kindly left his shoes in the hall for me, although Mum kept telling me to give them back. Then I got a new bed. It’s a large cage that Mum set up in the corner in the kitchen and put my bedding in. Then she put a blanket over it. I was a bit worried the first time she shut the door, but after a while I got used to it. It’s my own little den that I can go off to when I want. And I sleep in there at night.

Last of all Mum started taking me to obedience classes. I liked that. There were 7 other dogs there that I got to meet each week and could occasionally have a play with. I had a great time, even if it did mean that I had to learn things like sit, down, stand (I don’t like that one), wait, and stay. Mum also taught me to rollover. Or rather I found out that if I rolled over Mum would give me a treat. Good one, eh?
